KLS IMER TOASTMASTERS CLUB
General Guidelines:
1. Participants will be referred as panelists and evaluated individually.
2. Panelists must approach the moderator before the event begins.
3. Upon the moderator’s invitation, panelists must briefly present their views on the topic.
4. Discussions will follow a Q&A format moderated by the moderator.
5. Panelists should not interrupt others and must respect turn-taking.
6. Arguments must be supported by evidence, facts, and logical reasoning. Speculation or unsupported opinions are discouraged.
7. Maintain a conversational tone and signal to contribute by raising your hand.
8. Focus on insightful discussions, avoiding unnecessary conflict.
9. Decorum and mutual respect are mandatory. Disrespectful behavior may lead to disqualification.
Discussion Format:
1. Topics will be provided one hour before the event. Stances (for or against) will be assigned on the spot.
2. The discussion will consist of three rounds, each lasting 20–25 minutes.
3. Panelists may refer to handwritten notes but are prohibited from using electronic devices.
Round Structure:
Preliminary Round:
1. Each panelist has 1 minute to deliver an opening statement when called by the moderator.
2. No interruptions are allowed during opening statements.
3. A rebuttal session of 10 minutes will follow after all opening statements.
4. Panelists will have 1 minute to conclude their arguments and present a summary.
5. Moderators may pose questions to panelists.
6. Disqualifications will occur after this round, with the number determined by the moderator.
Final Round:
1. The structure mirrors the preliminary round, with new topic assigned post-round two.
2. The discussion will conclude with an interview segment.
3. Moderators will lead the Q&A session, with judges and the audience are also allowed to ask the question.
Judges decision will be final
